Choosing a university can be stressful! For international students, there is the added pressure of applying from a completely different country. At UOIT, our application process is straightforward. All applications to full-time undergraduate programs are processed by the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). This is where you will be able to submit an application, check the status of your application and accept offers of admission.

Before applying, you will want to go over all of the undergraduate UOIT programs and their prerequisites on our website. Once you have selected a program, you will go to the OUAC website and select the Undergrad (105) option. Be sure to apply by the application deadline for the program to which you want to be admitted. Once UOIT receives your application, we will send you information about the next steps in the admissions process. To make things even easier, UOIT does not require any supplementary application items (like interviews, portfolios or essays), and admission is based solely on academics.

You must demonstrate English proficiency to be eligible for admission. You can demonstrate proficiency with one of the following:

  • Successfully completing at least three years of formal, full-time study at a secondary or post-secondary institution where the language of instruction and examination is English.
  • Enrolling in our English Language Centre (ELC).
  • Achieving the required English test proficiency.
  • Enrolling in an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program with one of our partner institutions.
  • You can find the full requirements for proficiency on our admissions website.

Of course, the most important thing you must determine first before you even apply is if UOIT is the right fit for you! After downloading a viewbook from our website and deciding on a program to apply to, make sure you ask questions from our admissions officers, read about current students’ experiences on our blog and check out a virtual tour to get an idea of the campus you will be studying at.

Happy applying and we hope to see you next year!
