So you’ve thought about studying abroad, and you’ve bookmarked endless sites dedicated to university rankings and school profiles! It’s a big world and there are so many countries and universities to choose from; where do you begin?!

Have you considered Canada? Canada is well known for being a safe, clean, multicultural and welcoming country. Education is a top priority for Canadians and the Canadian government, so you can rest assured that public universities (and most of our universities are public) will offer a high quality of education, with degrees that will be well respected around the world. Most of our universities, including Carleton, have reasonably priced tuition and offer scholarships for international students.

Explore university profiles, attend online webinars and chats, and meet with university representatives when they visit your city! Find your fit! Finding your fit means exploring universities based on the educational experiences that you think would be best for you. What program are you looking for? Would you prefer a city campus or a small town setting? Do you want to include paid work placements as part of your degree (called co-operative education or ‘co-op’ in Canada)? What sort of clubs or athletic facilities are important to you?

Carleton is a medium sized university with about 29,000 students. This offers students the benefit of a wide range of programs, but a setting that is close-knit enough to get to know your classmates and professors! We offer a beautiful riverside campus setting where everything is in walking distance. Being in Canada’s capital city of Ottawa offers many advantages. You’ll find a multicultural student experience and amazing co-op and research opportunities in local high tech, health, cultural and political placements! With students from over 140 countries represented on our campus, many Canadian and international students have already found their fit at Carleton!
