This two-year Ontario College Diploma program prepares students with the knowledge and skills to work as a practical nurse in the health care system and to write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination in Ontario.
Students learn the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation tools required to provide caring and therapeutic nursing care to individuals of all age groups and social settings. The curriculum covers classroom theory, laboratory techniques, practical experience and independent study. Most importantly, students gain hands-on experience in a variety of health care facilities and participate in clinical placements that may require evening, overnight and weekend shift work.
