| Description: |
The purpose of the Practical Nursing program is to develop knowledge and skill to a level of competency of a beginning practical nurse practitioner. The curriculum is formulated in accordance with the Standards for Practical Nursing Programs of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Theory and practice are concurrent throughout the program. Clinical placements provided in the health care agencies of Hamilton, Brantford, Halton, Niagara, and the surrounding regions. Students are responsible for their own travel and costs to clinical placements.
On the successful completion of the Practical Nursing program, graduates are eligible to write the registration examinations for Practical Nurses conducted by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
