This four-semester diploma program is based on both academic and practical courses, which provide graduates with the knowledge, skills, and experiences required for careers as health and fitness professionals. Students will learn how to plan, market, and deliver safe and effective fitness, wellness, and healthy lifestyle programs. Expert faculty and state-of-the-art fitness facilities provide students with a high-quality learning environment. The program faculty work closely with the industry and professional associations to ensure graduates are fully prepared for employment.
Through the program curriculum, students are trained as fitness professionals to provide fitness assessments, counselling, exercise prescription, and leadership services. Graduates are skilled in identifying the needs and designing programs for individuals and groups to meet a wide range of objectives and goals. Graduates also exhibit skills in the operation/management of fitness facilities, program promotion, identification and management of safety and injury issues, and the development of leadership ability and performance.
