Do you enjoy thinking about and discussing ideas such as the meaning of life, the values at the basis of our society, or the nature of mind and matter? Are you interested in what the great thinkers have to say about human potential and our highest ideals? Courses in philosophy challenge our thinking and provide the occasion to clarify our ideas and to communicate effectively.
This Major program is designed for students who wish to acquire the depth and breadth of thinking offered by courses in the main branches of philosophy while leaving themselves open to take a large number of elective courses in philosophy and in other disciplines.
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
