Many people would be surprised to learn that it takes a week to drive the whole length of the Canada. With such a large area of land, come many differences between the provinces, cities, and towns of Canada.

Now that you’re looking to come to study in Canada make sure you take some time to do your research and choose a province, city and college that will best suit your needs and wants.

At Bow Valley College, we are located in the heart of Calgary, one of Canada’s safest and most dynamic cities, with a young population of just over a million people. There is a rich cultural and artistic scene in Calgary, and it is regularly voted one of the top cities in the world in which to live.

Our city boasts thousands of parks and the most extensive urban pathway system in all of North America. Just an hour to the west, Canada’s magnificent Rocky Mountains offer climbing, biking, skiing, hiking and other mountain adventures.

Sure, Canada can be cold and Calgary does get an opportunity to celebrate winter each year. But living in winter isn't all bad - all buildings are centrally heated and so is most public transportation, and even in winter the sun is still shinning. In fact, Calgarians enjoy plenty of sunshine all year long.

Like Calgary itself, Bow Valley College has a diverse population and in recent years we’ve welcomed students from all over the world to our college. We’ve welcomed students from these countries (and more): Vietnam, Mexico, China, Japan, India, United Kingdom, United States, Turkey, Thailand, Ukraine and Korea.

If you decide to make Bow Valley College your place of study we have a dedicated International Education Department to help you transition into student life here. We offer help with immigration, financial, academic, intercultural, and personal questions. We also believe that while studying is your priority there should be time for fun too, and we offer cultural and social activities each semester where students can learn more about the surrounding areas, have fun, make new friends and relax.
