FDU Vancouver Campus – A Multicultural Community

Save

Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) Vancouver Campus offers a unique experience for international students to immediately join an inclusive multicultural community. FDU Vancouver Campus has 600 students from over 50 countries right in trendy downtown Vancouver. The university has a personalized approach to new student orientation focused on building relationships and integration to the campus community.

The welcome experience begins when students are still at home with an online orientation for students moving to Canada. In this orientation students are prepared for many aspects of Canadian living such as:

  • Accommodation in Vancouver
  • Transportation to and from school
  • Climate and what to expect
  • Important items to bring
  • What to do when you arrive at the airport

The online orientation prepares students for the full on-campus orientation. New students are greeted by current students who provide campus tours, advice and friend introductions. Students learn insider secrets, such as the 24 hour café to study at or the local student discounts to take advantage of.

Orientation week is filled with socials, tours of Vancouver, introductions to professors and workshops on how to succeed in Canada and at FDU. On campus, the student lounge features booths filled with banking, fitness and cell phone companies so students can get started right away with the essentials for Canadian life. By the end of orientation, students are full-fledged members of the FDU Vancouver Campus community.
