International students looking for support integrating into the Canadian job market can benefit from the opportunities available through Bow Valley College. Whether seeking career advice or work experience, Bow Valley College offers the services to meet the needs of international learners and support their professional success.

Our college is centered on preparing our learners to become work-ready graduates. To start, those looking to improve their employability skills can find resources through our Learner Success Services. This unit organizes job fairs and helps students improve their job search skills through workshops and one-on-one advising with a Career Advisor.

Furthermore, most of our programs incorporate a co-op work experience as part of the curriculum. Through the internships, students get work placements in local companies applying the knowledge and skills they learned in the classroom.

In addition, international learners could work on or off-campus while they study, depending on their program and course credit load. The learners who meet the requirements listed by Citizen and Immigration Canada could work part-time during their studies, and full-time on any scheduled break of the program. Students can find opportunities to work on our Calgary campuses by connecting with our on-campus vendors and, when eligible, students can seek off-campus jobs. If proximity to the campus is important, our downtown location makes it very convenient to find jobs close to the campus. Through part-time jobs, newcomers can experience the local corporate culture and learn the soft skills needed to succeed.

Another great opportunity for our international learners is the ability to work after graduation. Those eligible can be granted a permit by Immigration to work anywhere around Canada for up to 3 years.

Whatever your professional goal is, Bow Valley College is the cornerstone to your success!
