While moving to another country can be the biggest decision in your life, it is always challenging for newcomers to get settled down in a new country.

As an international student myself, I truly felt International students are welcomed as a valuable part of the Centennial community. Here you will find many facilities and resources that help international students through their new journey in Canada.

"Centennial College staff and students have shown me support by helping me to settle down in a new environment through all the social and cultural activities. I enjoy the Entrepreneur Social coffee club I joined, as well as participating in social activities with my college mates.” says Alex Ochuke, Centennial College, Financial Planning Program.

Before your arrival in Canada, it is important to decide where you will live. The Homestay program allows you to stay with a host family and offers cultural immersion that can help you get involved with the local community and practice your language skills. Or, you might prefer the Centennial Residence where you can get fully involved in school activities and develop precious friendships.

There are many ways to enrich your school life and connect to your program, school, industry and teachers. Career Services Department offers employment advising to help you develop your resume, practice interviewing, and support you in your job search. The College has its own International Education Centre to assist you with information and advice; you can also connect with them for individual support.

"You need to be aware of and get engaged in services, workshops, and programs that Centennial College offers so that you can better adapt to the environment and prepare yourself to overcome any obstacles encountered on your way to success." -Jiahao Zhu, Centenial College International Student Ambassador, Biotechnology Program.

At Centennial College, you are encouraged to practise your English skills and develop your network with participation inside and outside of the classroom. "Here are some of the most valuable things that I’ve learned at Centennial College: helping people around me, working hard, never giving up and preparing to take on new challenges." - Amir Hasan, Centennial College, Business Accounting Program.

Studying at Centennial College will help you start an exciting journey in Canada, develop lifetime friendships and be prepared for a bright red future in Canada.
