The University of Alberta is a beautiful school in a beautiful city. In a short summary, here are some reasons why I study at the U of A.

There are many reasons why the University of Alberta is the right option for post-secondary; that list could go on forever. As a student of the U of A, I’ve discovered a few reasons why it deserves your attention:

  1. Its Academics
  2. - The U of A is proudly listed as one of the top 100 schools in the world! Students can study here in 18 faculties and 300+ undergraduate and 500+ graduate programs.

  3. A Diverse Campus
  4. - UAlberta loves its international students. Our school is quite large, with over 39,500 currently enrolled students, and 7,000+ them are from outside Canada!

  5. Festival City
  6. - Edmonton, Alberta is known as “Festival City” and was recently declared by National Geographic as a must-see city. Edmonton hosts over 30 celebrations of heritage, culture, and entertainment year-round, from carnivals to street performers to ice sculptures, pond skating, and fireworks.

  7. Nature in the City
  8. - Edmonton is a bustling metropolis with a vibrant downtown, but the city makes sure to preserve as much nature within. Parks and walking trails cover the city allowing residents to experience the best of both worlds. Edmonton’s famous River Valley, which loops through the city, is 22 times bigger than New York City’s Central Park! Edmonton is also one of the sunniest cities, with over 17 hours of sun in the summer, there’s lots of time to get out and explore.

  9. The Rocky Mountains
  10. - Alberta’s Rockies are world famous for their beautiful scenery and diverse wildlife. A short drive outside of Edmonton transports you to another world of crystal blue lakes, grey pointed mountains, and Northern Lights. You will easily spot lots of wildlife on your trip, including big horn sheep, moose, elk, and black and grizzly bears.
