Description:The Department of Classics offers you the chance to tailor your degree to suit your interests. For example, the student taking an honours degree in classics can choose between concentrations in Ancient Literature, Ancient History or Ancient Philosophy.

Whatever you choose, it's strongly recommended–but not essential–that you begin the study of at least one of the classical languages during your first year of study. For purposes of meeting grouping requirements, some ancient and Medieval philosophy classes may be counted either as classics credits, or philosophy credits.
