Description:Through this program, students acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required to become a successful practitioner of human resources management in the areas of recruitment, training, performance management, compensation, health and safety, and labour relations. A seven-week unpaid placement in a human resources department supplements the theory and application provided in the classroom. Students will interact with and receive guidance from individuals in the human resources industry through guest speakers, mentoring initiatives, and conducting information interviews.

Graduates of the program fulfill the academic requirements of the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario (HRPAO) and are eligible to write the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) CHRP- Certified Human Resources Professional (see HRPAO website www.hrpao.org for details).

Admission Requirements

    Eligible applicants will have a two- or three-year college diploma, university degree, or a combination of business experience and post-secondary courses. Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of previous academic achievement; demonstrated experience; post-secondary transcripts, indicating courses completed to date; and a detailed résumé and covering letter that illustrate their suitability for a career in human resources management.
