|Description:||Chemistry is the study of the composition and properties of matter, the transformations they undergo, and the associated energies. Chemists are at the forefront of unravelling the mysteries of the most complex chemical systems. If you are interested in understanding the structure of matter and how it behaves on a molecular level, you may be drawn to the field of chemistry.
Students in the four-year program may apply to take a co-operative option, integrating academic coursework with 12 months of career-related experience. This program is popular with students intending to seek employment immediately after graduation or planning to proceed to graduate school (i.e., obtain a Masters degree or a Doctorate). The hands-on experience provided in our laboratory program, the Research Projects course, and the opportunities for student employment in our Department (as research assistants, laboratory demonstrators, markers, etc.) give such students valuable career-related experience.
