Description:This program is designed to take advantage of both McGill's Finance and Economics course offerings to produce a student who is well trained in these two complementary areas.

The B.Com. Joint Honours in Economics and Finance program is offered jointly between Economics and the Desautels Faculty of Management. This program requires the completion of 30 specified credits of Honours courses listed in the Economics part of the program and 24 specified credits for Finance. In addition, all B.Com. students take a Core curriculum.

Students in this program should see an Economics adviser and a Management adviser.   •  Grade12 Mathematics  or  Grade12 Calculus and Vectors 
  •  Grade12 English  or  Grade12 Français 
Applicants must have Mathematics - NYA, NYB, NYC (OOUN, OOUP, OOUQ) or 103, 203, 105 (022X, 022Y, 022Z). If you are taking your math at McGill, the required courses are MATH 140 (Calculus I) and MATH 141 (Calculus II). If you have the necessary background, you should instead take the more advanced MATH 150 (Calculus A) and MATH 151 (Calculus B).

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 577] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90]
