Program Information

School:University of Windsor
Faculty:Faculty of Science

Description:Physics, as the most fundamental of sciences, offers a depth of understanding of natural phenomena, which is very valuable in our world of high technology. Students engage in experimental and theoretical study in basic and applied research, and in sub-fields ranging from acoustics to atomic physics. The first year focuses on the basic courses in physics, chemistry, and mathematics, plus two electives. The program is excellent preparation for challenging and rewarding careers in high technology industry, research and development in government and university laboratories, teaching at the high school and post-secondary levels, and technical sales or consulting. The program provides preparation for further studies in engineering, law, medicine, dentistry, health, physics, business, and computer applications.

The co-operative education program offers students the opportunity to combine their classroom experiences with related work experiences. Students who apply and are accepted to the program must successfully complete three paid work experiences interspersed throughout the four-year Honours program.
