Description:Prepare yourself for a highly respected professional designation that will help pave the way for you to become a successful senior business executive, start your own business, or make partner in an accounting or consulting firm. Guelph has helped prepare some of the country's top accountants for many years, and this major will provide students with all of the courses required to pursue one of three professional accounting designations - C.M.A., C.A., or C.G.A. In addition to courses in accounting, students will have the opportunity to develop a secondary area of focus such as leadership, corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship and innovation, and human resources management. Your studies in this major will provide you with industry specific knowledge and essential professional skills.

Sample career opportunities include financial analyst, treasurer, cost analyst, public accountant, financial planner, management consultant, chief information officer, and chief financial officer.
