Description:Mathematics majors apply math, probability, statistics, and the principles of business and finance to analyze statistical data and assess business risks. Mathematics at UBC provides an excellent balance of pure and applied mathematics and is useful, important, and interesting.

While it is traditionally considered a science, many Arts students specialize in Mathematics. The program offers a large selection of courses in various areas of pure and applied mathematics.

Admission Requirements

  • Graduation from high school
  • Minimum of 70% in Grade 11 or Grade 12 English (or their equivalents)
  • At least six academic/non-academic Grade 12 courses (recommended, but not required)
