DescriptionOur major program is designed to provide students with a broad intellectual and sociological background, which will help prepare them for a variety of careers and for advanced study at graduate school. The Department has particular strengths of faculty expertise in five main areas: theory and methodology; media, communications, and cultural studies; social justice and equity; community, deviance, the State, and organizations; and social anthropology.

Students may concentrate on sociology or women's studies.
