Prerequisites
Prerequisites NotesThere is no direct entry from high school into the Bachelor of Commerce program (BCom). Students must first complete a year of university in either the Faculty of Arts or the Faculty of Science and take courses in English, economics, mathematics and statistics. Admission to the BCom is competitive based on performance in the required courses and a student's overall academic record. Applicants must present a minimum admission GPA of 2.3 to be considered. However, a GPA of 2.3 and possession of the basic admission requirements, does not guarantee admission. Qualified applicants must present a competitive GPA to be admissible to the BCom program. The competitive GPA changes from year to year as it is based on the quality of the applicant pool and space available in the program quota. The competitive GPA has fluctuated between 3.0 and 3.3 in recent admission years.
