Description | Bishop’s offers programs tailor-made for your interests and goals. It’s possible (and common) for Bishop’s students to combine two majors without extending the duration of their degree (recent examples include: Music and Mathematics, Biology and Mathematics, Philosophy and Mathematics). This is made possible by the fact that required courses in one program can be counted as electives in the other.
In today’s knowledge-based economy, a strong background in mathematics open doors to many careers. A math major shows future employers that a candidate has good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Our recent graduates have found jobs in actuarial sciences, computer science, economics and statistics, among other fields. Graduates from our double majors programs have also found jobs in areas other than mathematics such as biology, music, drama, with the math major bringing added value to the student’s degree.
