DescriptionGeography surrounds us. It affects us. We affect it. At Carleton, we study people, the environment and their interactions from the geographic perspectives of space, place and process. Students earning a degree in Geography will analyze all sorts of social and environmental issues, and will come to understand how maps and statistics are used to describe and solve problems. Join us in our exciting exploration of such topics as: biophysical processes and environmental change; socio-economic, cultural-political, and historical factors that influence human actions; and the activities and patterns of societies across the globe. You can specialize by completing a Concentration in one of three areas: Physical Geography; Globalization, Society, and Environment; or Resource and Environmental Assessment.
