Canadian Tourism College (CTC) Vancouver and Surrey campuses are private post-secondary vocational training institutions specializing in travel and tourism business management, adventure tourism, hospitality and resort business management, hospitality cruise business, golf tourism, spa management, flight attendant, international work abroad, IC3 and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, and online training in the following areas: hospitality management diploma and certificates, travel agent certificate, airline reservation courses, and a wide variety of specialty tourism programs. CTC has been offering tourism education in Canada since 1980 and was the first travel and tourism specialty school to earn accreditation from the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia in 1995.

All diploma and certificate programs offered by CTC are highly endorsed, internationally recognized, and in many cases, carry transfer credits into universities and colleges around the world. Following employer demand and industry standards, CTC's courses will equip students with the tools necessary to excel in the ever changing tourism industry.

Areas of Expertise

CTC staff are recognized experts in their respective fields. Many of our instructors have degrees, diplomas in adult education, provincial instructor diploma credentials from the province of British Columbia, and are CITC certified travel counsellors. All staff have many years of tourism industry experience and networking contacts. The instructional staff are committed to on going professional development. The College specializes in helping to provide the skills that students need and the practical on the job work experience to gain successful employment in this growing industry. The College invites high school students to participate in the "Tourism Career Prep" program to provide insight into the five sectors of tourism and the occupations that are available. Work experience opportunities are available, scholarships applications are posted on the Web site, and employment opportunities are posted on the Web site for all alumni students to access. The College provides lifetime placement assistance, works in partnership with Global Tourism Recruitment Solutions, a placement agency for tourism professionals, and for two years has successfully placed CTC alumni students in jobs internationally through the International Work Abroad program.

CTC has received prestigious awards such as Top 40 under 40 and earned Entrepreneur of the Year from the Surrey Board of Trade in 1995 and 2006.

Off Campus Housing

CTC does not currently provide housing on campus, but there are many housing options for students in the Lower Mainland, including shared accommodation or short term rentals. "Homestay," where you live with a local family while studying in Canada, is one popular accommodations option for many international students. Incoming Students

All students enrolled at CTC are required to attend an orientation prior to program commencement. During the induction day, you'll have the opportunity to meet the staff, familiarize yourself with the campus facilities and local areas of interest.

Career Planning

The Canadian Tourism College provides all students with professional career planning. We have a career counsellor available to develop practicum placements, resumes, interview skills, and job search. Career Planning Services are available to all graduates regardless of when they finish their program.

Information Technology

Both campuses are equipped with leading edge computer training facilities. In addition to training on the most widely used computer reservation systems, SABRE, Amadeus and Apollo, Microsoft Office Suite of programs, and Internet courses, CTC has online distance learning training in these and many more subjects. CTC boasts a large international enrolment with students coming to study from Europe, Britain, Central and South America, Pacific Asian region, Australia, Turkey, and Mexico.
