Program Options

Graduates of this Dual Degree stream will receive an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (H.B.Comm) from Lakehead University in their major of choice, as well as a Bachelor in Management (BiM) from Rennes School of Business in one of the following majors:

  • Marketing
  • Finance and Banking
  • Supply Chain

All courses taken at RSB will be delivered in English. Please note that choosing particular combinations of majors/specializations between Lakehead and RSB may result in additional course requirements in order to achieve the requirements of both programs. There is at least one specialization at RSB that can be taken without requiring any additional courses at Lakehead in each major, with the exception of Accounting students. 

Typical Program Schedule

Accounting majors require 5 years of study.

Internship

The internship is a requirement of the BiM degree at RSB. Students must complete an eight-week internship requiring approval by RSB. Students may apply to a number of opportunities globally via database or submit their own opportunity for assessment by RSB. The internship can take form as a paid employment opportunity in your field of specialization and requires your employer to assure that specific duties are being undertaken.

Curriculum

At Rennes School of Business
The curriculum at RSB will be mostly decided for you based on your choice of specialization (Marketing, Finance, or Supply Chain) and specific courses will be shared with you when you are closer to departing.

At Lakehead University
Specific program requirements, as reflected in the University Academic Calendar at the point of your admission, depend on your choice of major at Lakehead University. A meeting with your Program Chair is essential to determine whether any adjustments are required to your Lakehead University courses.

Continuation Requirements for Students in the International Dual Degree Program

Students must meet all continuation requirements at the end of year two of the H.B.Comm program outlined in the University Academic Calendar in order to be eligible to continue in the program. Students who do not meet these requirements will be ineligible to participate in the International Dual Degree program, but may continue to study in a business degree program at Lakehead University.

New Students

Future students may apply to this program directly through OUAC (https://www.ouac.on.ca). Note that there are limited spots available, and admission will be competitive.  Applications require a Statement of Interest.

Current Students

Are you a Lakehead H.B.Comm first or second year student? Spaces may become available during the course of your study. The Faculty of Business Administration will collect applications from all interested second year students. Applications are due November 1st of the year prior to exchange; however, students are welcome to submit a late application in the event that other applicants are unable to attend. Successful applicants will be notified in January and provided guidance on how to proceed. Please fill out this form to start the process:
