Thanksgiving - Second Monday of October

Pumpkins at The Briars Resort, Jackson's Point, OntarioSome say that immigrants from the United States brought this holiday with them to Canada in the 18th century. As in the United States, the holiday celebrates the fall harvest, but it occurs earlier in the year to reflect the earlier harvest time in Canada.

This is a statutory holiday where families gather for dinner, often having turkey or ham.
