This is our most popular major because it provides the greatest flexibility for students to pursue their interest in one or more areas of biology and design their own curriculum through the selection of specific senior courses. This major allows you to explore the breadth and/or depth of the biological sciences, in courses dealing with subject matter ranging from the molecule to the ecosystem. A student may select the Biological Science major initially and easily transfer to a more specialized major within the first two years. More than 50 percent of Bachelor of Science graduates major in Biological Science. This major provides the opportunity to complete the entrance requirements for a number of professional schools.
Graduates of this program may pursue professional degrees such as human medicine, veterinary medicine, naturopathic medicine, and dentistry; engage in technical and field work with government agencies or universities; or begin careers in research, education, and biotechnology.
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
