| Description: |
The Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management (BCom) program focuses on the rapidly changing global economic environment and the opportunities for entrepreneurial activity. Much of the program is delivered through case analysis in a team setting where students develop critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills. The result is intra- and entrepreneurial- leadership combined with management skills that translate theory into practice. The BCom program involves identification and pursuit of opportunities, marshalling of required resources and their strategic allocation, and management. It is focused on enabling students to be successful innovators, be it in new businesses or in implementing new ideas in established organizations. Underlying this focus is developing an understanding of the relationship between business, society and the environment. Students acquire the skill set required for workplace success.
The program is offered as a 12-month degree completion program (year 3 and 4), or a 3-year accelerated bachelor's degree through the International Study Centre. In Year 3 and 4, this intensive program is unique in that it provides years three and four of a conventional four-year business degree in 12 months. By eliminating the long breaks characteristic of traditional programs, it condenses the third and fourth year of study and allows students to complete two years of university courses in 12 months.
