| Description: |
At Algoma University, we celebrate music. Our music program can provide an excellent foundation for students who wish to explore music as a career, once they've developed the fundamentals of performance, theory and musicianship. We offer a three-year B.A. degree in Music which offers a comprehensive experience in performance, music theory, music history and applied musicianship, such as conducting, private pedagogy and classroom teaching. Our ensembles (Algoma University Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Music Theatre Ensemble) are very active within the local community, and give students ample opportunity to perform.
Here at Algoma University, we strive to create an inclusive, learning centered experience which involves all music students at a comfortable level. Development of reliable performance skill is nurtured through weekly performance classes, where students discover and develop their musical "voice".
