Development Economics and International Development
Description:
As the nations of the world become increasingly interdependent, we need graduates with knowledge of and experience in international development. In this program, you will acquire an understanding of political, economic, and social change and an insight into the impact of internal and external forces on a country. On top of the multi-disciplinary core courses, you will choose one of seven areas of emphasis: Economics and Business Development; Gender and Development; Rural and Agricultural Development; Biophysical Environment and Development; Latin American Studies; Political Economy and Administrative Change, and Historical Perspectives in Development. International Development at Guelph is the largest program of its kind in Canada.
Career opportunities may be found in journalism, law, government agencies and departments, and international companies.
