From modelling the fluctuations of the unemployment rate to forecasting the potential for jobs, mathematics is a crucial component in the understanding and exploration of virtually all social science disciplines. The Mathematics student will receive a strong foundation in modern mathematics and have the opportunity to apply this in areas such as pricing of futures contracts, optimization of manufacturing processes, psychology, sociology and even archeology. Opportunities exist for senior students to assist in the departmental Learning Centres. Our program in mathematics, enhanced by personal involvement and accessibility of faculty, will prepare you for a wide choice of rewarding career opportunities.
Graduates may find career opportunities as financial advisor/analyst, economic forecaster, and market researcher, in telecommunications, software development, and actuarial science.

Grade 12 English
For the Bachelor of Arts program , Advance Function is highly recommended: five additional 4U or M credits are also required. For the Bachelor of Science program: Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U) and two credits from Grade 12 Biology (SBI4U), Chemistry (SCH4U), and Physics (SPH4U) are also required.
