Linguistics, the scientific study of language, cuts across the humanities, social sciences, cognitive sciences, physical sciences, and biological sciences. It looks at the principles of human languages, such as how people learn language and how languages change over time. As well as being interdisciplinary, the program is interuniversity, with classes offered at Dalhousie, Mount Saint Vincent and Saint Mary's universities.
