We encourage all Guelph students to become responsible citizens by developing an informed knowledge of the workings of the Canadian government at home and on the world stage. Our comprehensive curriculum covers Canadian government, public administration and policy, comparative and international politics, and political theory and philosophy. The study of comparative government and international relations will give you a better understanding of political events worldwide. By examining the writings of important figures in political philosophy and theory, you will gain a clear idea of the fundamental problems of government. You might like to combine the study of politics with international development, economics, history, or geography.
Graduates may find career opportunities in business, law, media, municipal and regional government, and interest group activist.
