| Description: |
Every organization needs people who can keep track of the accounts and process a wide variety of business transactions quickly and efficiently. Do you like working with numbers? Would you like to improve your computer skills and qualify for a good job? Consider the Accounting Assistant program! After just ten months, you will be qualified for work as a full-charge accountant in a small business, as an accounts receivable / accounts payable clerk in a medium or large business, and as a self-employed bookkeeper.
The Accounting Assistant program is a full-time, ten-month program offered from September to June. You gain an excellent understanding of both manual and computer accounting systems and the ability to apply this knowledge to business situations. You are also introduced to other computer applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, in addition to general office procedures, business writing, and organizational behaviour. At the end of the Accounting Assistant program, you will gain practical experience and the opportunity to network when you participate in a two-week work practicum with a local company.
