The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science offers courses and plans in Actuarial Science, which is the application of mathematics and statistics to financial problems with particular emphasis on life insurance, casualty insurance, and employee benefit programs. The courses offered provide theoretical preparation for the courses of the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society, and include studies of such subject areas as Mathematics of Finance, Life Contingencies, Risk Theory, and Casualty Ratemaking.

Grade 12 English
Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors
Grade 12 Advanced Functions
Grade 12 M Computer and Information Science or one other Grade 12 U course is required. Grade 11 Computer and Information Science is recommended.
