Seneca College offers the Nursing Program in collaboration with York University. Students who successfully complete the first two years (four semesters) of the Nursing program at Seneca College will be eligible to continue on to York University to complete two additional years leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) Degree.
This program provides intensive classroom instruction in theoretical and nursing practice. In addition, the curriculum includes a solid foundation in human anatomy and physiology, and complementary subjects in general education, as well as a minimum of 1,700 hours of clinical experience. Areas of study include nursing theory, the nurse as professional person, nursing practice, professional issues, human anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, sociology, English and General Education. Experience in the nursing practice laboratory and in several hospital and community settings is integral to the course of study.
Graduates may be employed in hospital settings, community agencies, medical clinics, industry, and other health care agencies.
