Description: This program prepares students for an exciting career in advertising and other areas of marketing communications. You will be trained for careers in the creative or media aspects of the advertising business, including print, broadcast and digital media. All instructors are active in their area of advertising expertise and bring the latest applications and experiences into the classroom. One faculty member is the author of three textbooks on marketing communications. The most up-to-date marketing communications facilities in the province, including a Macintosh computer lab and an industry-standard video studio, support the program. This program offers field placements that provide students with practical experience.

You will be exposed to the complete realm of advertising communications: advertising (creative), advertising (media), direct response and digital advertising (online and mobile), and media sales. You will write copy and design layouts for print media; write, produce, and edit video in broadcast media; prepare ads for the digital media; and prepare advertising campaigns that embrace all elements of communications. You will learn how to evaluate and recommend various media to resolve business problems.

Admission Requirements
Prerequisites:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent. The majority of Grade 11 and 12 courses must be college or university preparation level.
