| Description: |
Accounting is more than "number crunching." In fact, nowadays, computers do most of the basic bookkeeping. Accountants are at the centre of the organization, influencing all of its decisions. So, in addition to being able to quickly analyze and interpret facts and figures, you have to have a high level of integrity, good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, the ability to work with others at all levels of the organization, and strong communications skills.
As an accounting major, you'll study financial information, tax, auditing, Canadian accounting theory, and international accounting standards. You'll draw from fields such as finance, economics, statistics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and marketing. We work closely with the CA, CMA and CGA associations to ensure that you will be well prepared to pursue any professional designation.

Mathematics
One of Pure Math 30, Math 30-1, or Math 30-2. For Fall 2012/Spring 2013, applicants presenting Applied Math 30 will be given two semesters to complete Pure Math 30 or equivalent.
