The multidisciplinary major in Archaeology & Geography is housed in the Department of Geography. The disciplines Archaeology & Geography are linked in a number of ways, and, within this program, students will have the opportunity to combine the theoretical and technological approaches of each. It consists mainly of courses offered by the Department of Geography, but also draws on social science and humanities courses from elsewhere in the Faculty of Arts and Science.
Faculty members often involve students in their research projects and field studies. These projects use state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and in collaboration with other departments, community members and employers on research projects. You may also gain employment at a number of museums and archaeological consulting companies. All these opportunities give you the chance to get additional hands-on experience.
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
