| Description: |
Civil Engineering involves the planning and construction of complex physical facilities such as buildings, bridges, dams, and tunnels, and the engineering aspects of water resources, waste disposal, transportation, soil mechanics, urban planning, and environmental impact assessment. Graduates may find careers in consulting engineering, construction, industry, or various levels of government. Opportunities exist in design, construction, fabrication, or inspection, as well as in research and development or teaching. Our graduates have been hired by SNC-Lavalin, Dessau-Soprin, Stantec and the Ministry of Transport Quebec. There are three tracks of study:
1. Civil Infrastructure Option: Designed for students interested in structural, geotechnical and transportation engineering. 2. Environmental Option: Tailored for students wishing to pursue careers in environmental engineering. 3. Information Technology Option: Designed for students interested in applications of information technology in civil engineering.

Quebec CEGEPS applicants must have completion of a two-year pre-university program or a three-year professional DEC (Diplôme d'études collégiales). For students from other provinces, Concordia requires a high school diploma and between four and five Grade 12 subjects.
