Geography is the study of the Earth - its Physical and Human Environments and their interactions. The instructors at Capilano University have interests that span the discipline of Geography. We have specialists in Cartography, Climatology, Cultural Geography, Economic Geography, Human Geography, Meteorology, Canadian Geography, and the Geography of Asia Pacific Region. We also share a common interest in the Earth and the relationships people have with it. We try to teach an understanding of human and physical landscapes and the relationship between them. We also wish to help students develop their skills in critical thinking, writing, and numeracy. Our courses are appropriate for students who are interested in pursuing a career in Geography, students who need both Science and Arts electives, and for those who wish to look at the world from a whole new perspective.
