| Description: |
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program is a one-year full-time professional program that meets the requirements of the Ontario College of Teachers for teacher certification (Certificate of Qualification). It is open to applicants presenting proof of graduation with an approved undergraduate degree from an accredited university. The program provided by the Faculty of Education is rigorous and demands a high degree of commitment. To be successful, a student must display a sensitivity to pupils, a sense of responsibility to the teaching profession, and a respect for knowledge.
The Junior/Intermediate divisions comprise of Grades 4 through 10. Students will complete courses in curriculum studies, curriculum methods, and foundations in education. In addition, there are three practice teaching sessions for a total of 13 weeks of placement in elementary and secondary schools throughout the province.

Applicants to the Bachelor of Education program (Consecutive) must hold a recognized undergraduate degree, all required teachable subject courses and be able to provide a transcript indicating that the degree has been conferred by June 2013 to be considered. Please note that applicants must have a minimum of ten full courses (20 semester courses) to their undergraduate degree, not including advanced standing credit, to be eligible for consideration.
