Description: An Honours Bachelor of Arts degree is offered jointly by the School of Dramatic Art and the Department of Communication Studies. This four year degree provides students with the knowledge of and practice in many facets of the arts and communication industries. Studies include courses in performance, stage design, video, film and theatre production, as well as theoretical and critical courses on the communication/ telecommunication industries and media content.

First-year dramatic art courses focus on theatre history, the nature of theatre, stagecraft and performance. First-year communication studies courses concentrate on the historical development of information technologies and their impact, an introduction to communication theory, and the role of communication in society. Students also take a course in production processes. After first year, students may pursue studying more specialized areas in theatre production, performance, media studies, and video and film production. Opportunities for internships exist for the advanced student.
