Once you have completed either the Honors or Specialization degree you will have the required course work to qualify for registration with APEGGA, the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, which regulates the practice of these professions in Alberta. The career opportunities open to you as a geology graduate include employment with companies engaged in exploration for, and production of hydrocarbons, metallic and non-metallic minerals, coal, and diamonds.
