Actuarial Science is the study of the financial impact of future contingent events and the management of the risk associated with these events. Our courses provide students with the background necessary to pursue the examinations of the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. Actuarial programs prepare students for careers in insurance and other financial institutions, and consulting firms that assess the adequacy of benefits programs and pensions. Together with applied math, financial modeling modules, which prepare students for careers in banking and finance, are also offered.
