The area option, with its disciplinary clusters, is recommended for students who envision graduate study in a specific discipline, such as history or political science. Students in the program in Latin-American and Caribbean studies are encouraged to consider the opportunities for foreign study and research made available by bilateral exchange agreements with leading universities in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world.
