The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is a liberal arts degree, upholding the centuries-old tradition of music as a humanistic study. At the same time, solo and ensemble performance comprise a vital complement to the historical and theoretical study of music. The program is ideal for the student who wishes to make a specialization of strong general musicianship.
Courses leading to the B.A. major in music are drawn from four areas of study: history and literature of music; theory and composition; individual practical study in both classical and jazz instruments or voice; and choral or instrumental ensemble.
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
