Bachelor of Business Administration School: St. Lawrence College Faculty: Kingston campus Degree: Bachelor Field of Study: Business Administration and Management, General Description: Laurentian University offers its Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. The program is focused on providing an honours degree which combines the practical strengths of a college with the theoretical underpinnings of a university. The relationship is all about providing access to education in a seamless manner, which gives credit for prior academic and experiential learning. The program provides two main streams of access: an entry level, four-year degree and an advanced level designed for college diploma graduates where credit is given for prior learning and experience. The advanced level entry permits the completion of the degree in as little as three academic terms. The core subjects in the BBA program cover the fundamentals of economics, accounting, financial information systems, financial management, management decision making, organizational behaviour, human resources, strategic planning, and marketing. Communication, analytical and computer skills are emphasized.Elective courses permit students to tailor the BBA to suit their own personal objectives. For example, a student with an entrepreneurial flair wishing to launch a travel business could take electives in entrepreneurship, along with courses pertaining to cultural or linguistic subject areas. In addition, upon completion of the BBA, students will be in a position to pursue a number of financial, accounting and management designations.
