Economics is the study of how individuals and organizations make choices and how those choices determine the way resources are used. Choices matter because society’s resources, whether capital, natural resources, or people’s time, are scarce. Economists study the problem of choice using a scientific approach; they systematically explore economic problems both by developing theories and examining data.
The three-year program leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Career prospects may be available in business, civil service, education, financial services, and graduate studies. The program is offered in both English and French.
