The Bachelor of Physical Education and Health (B.P.H.E.) specialty in Outdoor Adventure Leadership is designed to assist individuals in becoming competent leaders in the outdoors. The student will develop sound theoretical base, increase technical skills. and participate in a wide range of enriching educational and work-related experiences.
Students take part in some of the foremost outdoor adventure leadership training in Canada. In addition to the regular course load, students have the opportunity to gain valuable experiences and provincially or nationally recognized technical certifications in a wide range of outdoor activities, such as canoe tripping, whitewater, sea kayaking, rock climbing, and wilderness emergency first responder. Students also embark on a 14-day, 250 to 450 km canoe expedition towards the Arctic Ocean. Students may either enroll in a 400-hour internship (on-site work) or lead a three-week international expedition out of North America.
