Communication and Philosophy School: University of Ottawa/Université d'Ottawa Degree: Bachelor ; Honours Field of Study: Communication Studies/Speech Communication and Rhetoric Philosophy Description: The Department of Communication offers interdisciplinary training in organizational communication and media studies that keep well in step with the evolution of social needs and the development of information and communication technologies. Combining theory and practice, the department’s courses help students to both develop critical and analytical skills, and acquire professional skills and know how. By reading and discussing the deep reflections of the world’s great thinkers on fundamental topics like truth, justice, morality and existence, you sharpen your own ability to think clearly, critically, and independently. The philosophy department’s curriculum covers both the history of philosophy as well as its many branches including political philosophy and ethics. A French immersion stream is available with this program.
